How to enter a fomo referral code (and fix it if it didn’t apply)

Before you start: three things to know

• A referral code is a username. fomo’s help centre says every user’s referral link is fomo.family/r/ followed by their username (source).
• It’s applied at sign-up. fomo says there is no field in the app to enter one afterwards (source).
• It’s for new accounts. fomo’s Terms forbid creating multiple accounts to obtain referral benefits (Terms §8). Don’t make a second account to “get” a code. That is self-referral manipulation, and fomo can void rewards and terminate the account.

Step-by-step: applying the code

1. Copy the code. Use the copy button on this page. The code is REFALDER.
2. Open fomo’s official referral page. The referral link opens a page on fomo.family that says “Enter your code in-app to get 10% off fees” and offers iOS and Android downloads. Confirm the domain in your address bar is fomo.family.
3. Install the app or continue on the web. Download from the App Store or Google Play, or use the web app at fomo.family. Check the developer name is FOMO Labs, Inc. Ignore look-alike apps and sites.
4. Sign up with Apple or Google. That creates your account and non-custodial wallets (source). Remember which login you used: signing in with a different one creates a separate account.
5. Enter the code if you’re asked for it. If the sign-up screen shows a referral field, confirm it holds the code (paste it if it’s empty). Check the spelling before you continue.
6. Finish sign-up, then verify (next section).

Referral links and in-app flows can change. If your sign-up screen looks different from the steps above, follow what the app shows and use the code in whatever referral field it offers.

How to check the discount applied

fomo shows its fee before you confirm any trade. On Solana, the fee depends on order size; on other networks it’s 0.50% plus network fees (fee schedule). The referral discount is 10% off, so a referred account should see 0.45% where the standard rate would be 0.50%.

fomo’s article shows the discount against the 0.50% rate. It doesn’t spell out how the discount applies to Solana’s smaller flat-fee and 2% tiers, so always read the quote screen rather than assuming.

You can also check in the app: Profile → the gift icon. fomo says that’s where your own referral code and link live (source).

What if the code didn’t apply?

fomo’s official guidance (source):

1. Open Profile → Settings → Help and Support.
2. Tap Contact Support at the bottom.
3. Ask to be attached to the referral code you meant to use.

A referrer already recorded on your account can’t be removed, but fomo says it can be changed to a different one if you tell support which username you want. Support decisions are fomo’s; I can’t change anything on your account.

Common mistakes

• Finishing sign-up first and looking for the code field afterwards (there isn’t one).
• Typing a look-alike character, or adding a trailing space. Paste instead.
• Trusting a site that asks you to connect a wallet or share a private key “to claim” a code. Real referral codes never need that.
• Assuming the discount removes network fees or protects you from losses. It doesn’t.
