The complete guide to the fomo app referral code

Everything fomo documents about its referral code in one place: what a fomo referral code is, what it gives a new user, how to apply it at sign-up, what it costs and does not cover, the rules, and the risks. No invented bonuses, no hype.

The short answer

If you are searching for a fomo app referral code, here is everything that fomo itself documents, in one place. I have checked each point against fomo’s help centre and Terms of Service on 30 September 2026, and I link the source next to each claim.

Key facts at a glance
  • A fomo referral code is the referrer’s username, and the link looks like fomo.family/r/username (source).
  • Signing up with a code gives a new user 10% off fomo’s trading fees, for example 0.50% becoming 0.45% (source).
  • The code is applied at sign-up only. There is no field to add one later, although support can attach a referrer you missed (source).
  • The referrer earns 25% of the trading fees generated by the people they refer (source).
  • The code on this site is REFALDER, and the link is fomo.family/r/REFALDER.
  • It is not a bonus or a free-money offer, and it does not reduce the risk of losing money trading crypto.

What is a fomo referral code?

fomo is a social crypto trading app from FOMO Labs, Inc. that runs on iOS, Android and the web at fomo.family (source). Like many apps, it lets existing users invite new ones. Unlike many apps, it does not generate a random string of letters. According to fomo’s help centre, a referral code is simply the referrer’s username, and the matching link is fomo.family/r/ followed by that username (source).

That has a few practical consequences:

  • Every fomo user already has a code. You can find yours in the app under Profile, by tapping the gift icon (source).
  • Codes can be as memorable as a username. The code used here is REFALDER, which is also the username of the person whose link this is.
  • Usernames are licensed, not owned. fomo’s Terms say usernames cannot be sold or transferred and can be reclaimed in some circumstances, such as impersonation or inactivity (Terms §5).

The name “fomo” is shared by unrelated products (for example a crypto casino at fomo.io). This guide covers only the trading app at fomo.family.

What you get with the fomo referral code (verified benefits)

A lot of pages about any referral code promise more than the provider documents. Here is what fomo’s official sources actually say, and, just as important, what they do not say.

ItemWhat fomo documentsSource
Fee discount for the new user10% off trading fees. The standard 0.50% becomes 0.45% per trade, applied automatically to every trade.Help centre
Where the code goesOn the sign-up screen. There is no in-app field afterwards; support can attach a referrer you missed.Help centre

Sign-up cash bonus, free token or airdropNot documented in the official sources I checked. Treat any page promising one as unverified.Terms §8
Can the programme change?Yes. fomo may modify or cancel it at any time, with or without notice.Terms §8

In plain terms: a modest, ongoing reduction of fomo’s own fee. Not a reward, not tokens.

What the referrer earns, and why this site exists

There are two sides to a fomo referral. The new user gets the fee discount. The person who owns the code gets 25% of the trading fees that the referred users generate (source). The help centre adds some timing details:

  • Solana: the referrer is not paid on the referred user’s first buy, but is paid on every trade after that. Earnings are paid inside the referred user’s trade.
  • EVM chains (Base, BNB Chain, Monad): the referrer is paid on every trade. Earnings build up and are paid in batches, usually once or twice a day.

I am the referrer behind the code on this page. If you sign up with REFALDER and trade, I may earn a share of the fees you generate. That is a conflict of interest, and it is the reason this site labels every call-to-action as an affiliate link. It costs you nothing extra, because the discount applies either way, but you should weigh my opinions accordingly. The full explanation is in the affiliate disclosure, and the mechanics of both sides are in how fomo referrals work.

Publishers can also apply to fomo’s separate affiliate programme.

How to use the fomo referral code REFALDER, step by step

The order matters, because the code is only accepted at one moment: before your account exists. Here is the sequence. For screenshots-free troubleshooting and more detail, see the dedicated guide on how to enter a fomo referral code.

  1. Copy the code. It is REFALDER. Use the copy button on this page so you do not mistype it.
  2. Open fomo’s official referral page. The link https://fomo.family/r/REFALDER opens a page on fomo.family that offers iOS and Android downloads. Confirm the address bar says fomo.family.
  3. Install the app or continue on the web. Download from the App Store or Google Play, and check that the developer is FOMO Labs, Inc. Ignore look-alike apps and sites.
  4. Sign up with Apple or Google. fomo says this creates your account and non-custodial wallets, with no seed phrase needed at sign-up (source). Remember which login you used, because signing in with a different one creates a different account.
  5. Check the referral field. If the sign-up screen shows a referral field, make sure it holds the code. Paste it instead of typing.
  6. Finish sign-up, then look at the fee. fomo shows its fee before you confirm a trade. A referred account on the 0.50% tier should see 0.45%.

Screens can change: if yours differ, follow the app and use the code in whichever referral field it offers.

What if the code did not apply?

This is the most common problem, and fomo has an official route for it (source):

  1. Open Profile → Settings → Help and Support.
  2. Tap Contact Support at the bottom.
  3. Ask to be attached to the referral code you meant to use.

fomo says a referrer that is already recorded on your account cannot be removed, but it can be changed to a different one if you tell support which username you want. I have no access to anyone’s fomo account.

Typical causes: finishing sign-up before looking for a code field, a stray space or look-alike character, or signing in with a different Apple or Google login (which creates a second account).

fomo trading fees, and what the 10% discount is worth

To judge a discount, you need to know what it discounts. fomo publishes this fee schedule (Trading fees on fomo):

Where / order sizefomo fee
Solana, order under 5 USDCFlat 0.10 USDC
Solana, 5 to 47.50 USDC2% of order value
Solana, 47.50 to 190 USDCFlat 0.95 USDC
Solana, 190 USDC and above0.50%
Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Robinhood Chain, Ethereum0.50% plus network fees
Select major tokens (marked in the app)0.05%; under 1,000 USDC a flat minimum of no more than 0.50 USDC applies

fomo’s referral article shows the 10% discount against the 0.50% rate, giving 0.45%. It does not spell out how the discount interacts with the Solana flat-fee and 2% tiers or the reduced 0.05% tier, so I do not guess: the quote screen before you confirm a trade is the authority. fomo also says it may change fees at any time (Terms §7).

Worked examples (simple arithmetic)

These calculations use only the published 0.50% and 0.45% rates. They are illustrations, not predictions, and they ignore network fees and price impact.

Trade sizeFee at 0.50%Fee at 0.45%Difference
$500$2.50$2.25$0.25
$1,000$5.00$4.50$0.50
$10,000$50.00$45.00$5.00

A fee applies to each trade, so buying and selling incurs it twice. The discount is real but small and should never be a reason to trade more. More in fomo trading fees explained.

Costs the code does not touch

  • Network fees on every chain except Solana. fomo covers Solana gas, priority fees and token rent; elsewhere you pay network fees on top (source).
  • Token-level fees and price impact. Some tokens build fees into their contracts, and quotes reflect current liquidity, so results can differ.
  • Perpetual futures carry their own fees and risks, and fomo’s Terms say they are not available to U.S. persons (Terms §10).
  • Taxes on your gains, which are your own responsibility (Terms §26).

The rules: fomo’s Terms on referrals (section 8)

Section 8 of fomo’s Terms sets these rules, in summary:

  • No self-referral. You may not refer yourself, refer accounts you own or control, create multiple accounts to obtain referral benefits, or coordinate with others to artificially generate rewards.
  • fomo decides. Payouts are calculated and paid at fomo’s sole discretion. fomo can void, reverse or claw back rewards it believes were obtained through manipulation, and may suspend accounts.
  • It can change. The programme can be modified or cancelled at any time, with or without notice.

The Terms were dated 17 August 2026 when I checked on 30 September 2026. Read the live version, and never create a second account to “use” a code.

Pros and cons of signing up with a code

Pros

  • A documented, ongoing 10% reduction on fomo’s fee. It is small per trade but automatic.
  • Free to use, with no extra steps once applied at sign-up.
  • Works for a brand-new account on iOS, Android or the web.
  • fomo shows the fee before you confirm a trade, so you can verify the discount yourself.

Cons

  • The saving is modest: on a $1,000 trade at the 0.50% rate, 0.45% saves $0.50.
  • Sign-up only. If you already have an account, you cannot add a code in the app.
  • fomo can change or end the programme at any time.
  • The discount does not reduce market risk. Memecoins and new tokens can lose most or all of their value.
  • The referrer (me) earns from your trading fees, so I have a financial interest.

Who the code is for, and who should skip it

It may suit you if

  • you are an adult who already understands crypto risk and has decided to try fomo anyway;
  • you have not created a fomo account yet, so you can still apply a code at sign-up;
  • you live in a supported region and outside fomo’s restricted jurisdictions;
  • you will only use money you can afford to lose completely.

Skip it if

  • you already have a fomo account, because the code cannot be added afterwards in the app;
  • you would need the money soon, or feel pressure not to “miss out”;
  • you are in a restricted region or below the legal age to contract;
  • you expect a referral code to be a source of free money. It is not.

Eligibility is fomo’s call; check the Terms for the current restricted-jurisdiction list.

Risks, safety and the crypto disclaimer

Crypto trading is high-risk

You can lose all the money you put in. Nothing on this page is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. I am not a financial adviser, and I earn money if you trade. Only use money you can afford to lose.

  • Loss of capital. Memecoins and new tokens are extremely volatile, and fomo’s own scam guidance warns about low liquidity and airdropped scam tokens (source).
  • Verification is not safety. fomo says a verified-token badge does not mean a token is risk free and does not guarantee performance or liquidity (source).
  • You hold the keys. fomo describes its wallets as non-custodial, and its Terms say you are responsible for securing your login and keys. Nobody from fomo will ask for your private key (source).
  • Limited regulatory protection. fomo’s Terms say it is not registered with or licensed by any regulatory authority, and that the service is not a DEX, exchange or broker (Terms §6 and §18). Protections you may expect from a regulated broker or bank may not apply.
  • Social pressure. A live feed of other people’s wins can encourage impulsive trades. A leaderboard shows past results, not future ones.

Avoiding fake referral pages

  • The official domain is fomo.family, and the help centre is help.fomo.family.
  • A referral code never needs your private key, seed phrase or a wallet connection. If a page asks for one, leave.
  • Be sceptical of codes promising “100% off” or large bonuses. fomo documents a 10% fee discount.

Supporting guides

This page is the overview. Each of these goes deeper on one question:

Frequently asked questions about the fomo referral code

What is the fomo app referral code?

It is the username of the person who referred you. fomo’s help centre explains that every user’s referral link has the form fomo.family/r/ followed by their username, so the “code” and the username are the same thing (source). The code used on this site is REFALDER.

What does a fomo referral code give a new user?

A 10% discount on fomo’s trading fees, applied automatically to every trade. On the standard 0.50% rate that means 0.45% (source). I found no documented sign-up cash bonus, free token or airdrop in fomo’s official pages, so treat any site promising one as unverified.

Can I add a fomo referral code after I sign up?

Not in the app. fomo says the code is applied on the sign-up screen and there is no field to enter one later. If no referrer was recorded, fomo’s guidance is to open Profile → Settings → Help and Support, tap Contact Support, and ask to be attached to the code you meant to use (source).

Is the fomo app referral code safe to use?

Using a code from the official fomo.family page does not require your private key, seed phrase or a wallet connection, and any site asking for those is a red flag. That said, the code does not make trading safe: prices can fall to zero and fomo’s Terms state it is not registered with or licensed by any regulatory authority (Terms).
